How to: Change the drive letter assigned to the CD-ROM.
Solution:
Open the 'System' icon in 'Control Panel'. Click the 'Device Manager' tab and double-click on 'CDROM'. Select the appropriate CD-ROM and select the drive letter from the 'Start drive letter' drop-down list box and the 'End drive letter' drop-down list box.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)
3) Double-click the 'System' icon. (The 'System Properties' dialog box appears.)
4) Click the 'Device Manager' tab.
5) Select the CD-ROM you want to change from the list, and click 'Properties'. (The CD-ROM 'Properties' dialog box appears.)
6) Click the 'Settings' tab.
7) Select the drive letter from the 'Start drive letter' drop-down list box and the 'End drive letter' drop-down list box.
NOTE: Make sure the letter in the 'Start drive letter' and the 'End drive letter' drop-down list box match.
8) Click 'OK' to close the CD-ROM 'Properties' dialog box.
9) Click 'OK' to close the 'System Properties' dialog box.
10) Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
